Not until Mark V were made in the US, in Saco, Maine, did Weatherby introduce true stainless steel rifles. To the best of my knowledge Japan-made "silver" Mark V with blue steel bottom metal were all nickel plated. I hate to say, but unless I am drastically wrong (improbable in this case.), this is not a stainless steel rifle but a carbon steel rifle that is factory nickel electroplated.
